Abstract—Previous studies have investigated student language learning by using technical tools such as, websites, e-mails, and discussion forums. Most reports showed that e-learning gives students flexible time and space for self-learning. However, few research findings showed the opposite results of student e-learning. Demotivation is another issue in the field of language learning. Instead of trying to find out what motivates students to learn, this study investigated what demotivators students might experience while using online resources. The results showed that learning contents and future career implications (the lack of intrinsic motivation) were the major two demotivating factors for online resources.
